Buffalo Valley Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Buffalo Valley Golf Course first opened for play in 1969.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6624 yards. The course rating is 71.7 and it has a slope rating of 119. From the forward tees, the course measures 4968 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 539 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 150 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 481 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 150 yard par-3.
Buffalo Valley Golf Course was built in the mountains, so you can expect many uneven lies. Many trees line the fairways, and water hazards (creeks and ponds) come into play on six holes.
The course closed on January 1, 2018.
Johnson City closed the course, citing a significant decline in golf that over the past 17 years has resulted in a combined $2.07 million in operating losses at Buffalo Valley and the city’s Pine Oaks Golf Course.%u200B

Located just off the highway, Buffalo Valley Golf Course was easy to get to.
Only had one foursome in front of me to pass and finished in 3hrs shooting 79/38putts on a very nice layout.
There are houses on the course BUT they are WAY BACK and don't even come into play with your worse shot. Half of the holes are open and the other half placement which would keep the pace going and allowing faster players thru while the "Hawkers" are looking. No GPS and was glad I had mine even though the basic yardage sticks are there. Most greens will allow putts to roll back into the fairway on front placements, I know this to be true.
Great course with club house only for drinks and paying, its all about the course.
